at my jeweler’s bench showing my niece and nephew how to use some of the tools – 2016

About Hannah

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a concentration in metalsmithing and jewelry. Following my education, I promptly moved back to Dallas to start my career as a custom fine jeweler for a local elite designer. After eleven years of honing my craft, I felt the need to switch my focus and go after a life long dream of becoming a studio artist.

By blending my jewelry career with early childhood experiences of being raised by parents that embraced nature and creativity, I have created a distinct style all my own.

I primarily paint with oil on canvas to create bold and eye catching gem encrusted paintings.

Q + A

Favorite vacation spot?

Hands down Costa Rica.  Waterfalls, volcano zip lines, beaches, monkeys!, aggressive raccoons, friendly people, no street signs when you need them, adult beverages to go… what else could you ask for??  Pura Vida!

Do you have any pets?

My husband and I rescued a Brittany Spaniel, Solo, a couple years ago.  I immediatley was like “what did we dooo?!”  This dog was nuts.  Luckily, he has calmed down over the years and has become such a sweetheart.  He often spends his days with me in the studio staring out the window contemplating how he is going to get the squirrels.

What is your nickname?

Bean, Beaner, Beanie Baby, Beans, Beano (if you can’t tell by now, I had two really lovely older sisters growing up…), Han, Hannie, Hannah Banana, and H.
