Description
In this series, Beneath the Bell Jar, I wanted to explore the idea of preserving drifting memories and curious thoughts — each work sitting beneath glass, protected, elevated, and contained. Each is its own specimen of a private world, yet grounded by something that connects us. This body of work expands on my ongoing fascination with nature and the preciousness of small things — a thread rooted in my background as a jeweler.
The idea for Borrowed Wings came after watching a series called Going Circular, which imagines a future where we mimic the genius of nature to eliminate waste. It explores the cycle of life — how, after death, things break down and are recreated into something new, over and over again. The same particles, simply rearranged. We are all just borrowing matter for a brief moment — even wings are temporary.
